Cuomos case for givebacks or layoff if the unions don't agree to givebacks is crumbling. That is exactly why he is in such a hurry to ram a shitty contract down our throats. A yes vote ignores fiscal reality in my opinion. If this trend continues, it will be extremely difficult for Cuomo to make a case to the public that layoffs are necessary if the unions vote these contracts down. Sure, the tea partiers will scream for them anyway, but no rational person would be able to agree with him, and it would cost him in the polls. I've been predicting this all along. A no vote is the only logical vote at this point.

Hopefully logic reigns, DS. But I'm not so sure of it. I really hope a lot of those yeses are shills. But we know not all of them can be. I'll be holding my breath because I am at this point wondering just what the heck it will take to wake people up. They don't even get that the contract doesn't protect one single solitary person from lay-off. They just say what gg is. I know for sure I'll get laid off if I vote no; I only might be if I vote yes. Wow, just wow.
Thanks for the link, uncivil. I don't browse the TU blogs any more so only get dragged in when they're link over here. I'm glad to be dragged in this time. I may be beating my head against a brick wall but at least I can urge people to vote no for their own damned good.

I would assume some of them have to be shills, especially since the shills tried to influence the vote in CT. Apparently they were upset with the no layoffs clause there and worked to get the contract voted down so layoffs would happen. Some of these conservative and teabagger groups are just plain dispicable.

I must have worded that badly. I'm not worried that some of them are shills. I'm sure there's quite a few shills. What concerns me is how many and are they the majority of the yeses? Glancing through that TU thread last night before I went to bed (I've finally reached burn out on this and am giving it a rest this morning and chilling with marathoning Harry Potter movies with the grandson this weekend), one thing struck. Those polling their offices had a large majority of no voters in all levels of senority. Of course, who knows if any of those are also shills. However, it's made me optimistic again. Not much I can do except keep trying to convince people to vote no and wait to see what happens in the votes.

My informal poll of 4 people (2 CSEA and 2 PEF) came back 2 Huh? votes and 2 No. Neither CSEA member even knew there was a contract vote coming up. I had to explain what was going on, and what that union was trying to push on them.

Wow! How could they be so ignorant of it? But then again, like I said, CSEA is censoring their FB page and on their website, you have to scroll waaay down to the bottom to get the link to the contract. They're really trying to downplay it and just try to get an automatic pass on it from the members. Glad you informed them, uncivil.
