The election results are coming today. Regardless of the result, I'm less than pleased with the apathy displayed by the membership by having such a small turnout for such an important election.

The small turnout is a good thing, I think. We had a small turnout when the contract was rejected, and a large turnout when the re-vote was accepted, if I remember correctly.
This might be a good sign. Perhaps it's the P.O.ed members who voted!

Unofficially the old regime has been ousted! hallelujah!! Let's hope they don't make us "re-vote" for that too, lol!

CapCon is also reporting that unofficially, NYUP won. However, the vote was tight, so an automatic recount is going to occur.

I sincerely hope he enjoys the pay cut.

For him, he'll be going from something like $150K to what, $90K? $100K?
I think that's a suitable karmic penance for screwing up our contract negotiations as badly as he did... He made our salary lower, and we made HIS salary lower! But his went a lot lower than ours!
I am so happy right now. I've got something in my eye (snif). ;D

I know he was a psychologist somewhere out near Syracuse, and I'm sure his union salary is far more than his salary in his state item. Not only that, but he apparently also lives here in Albany, so if his state item was back out near Syracuse, he might have to sell his house and move because of the loss (if he owns a house here, anyway).

Bwahahaha! He's a Psychologist II according to his bio - a grade 23. That's what, $84k a year at top of grade?
The PEF website lists his union salary at $148k.
So yeah, he's getting quite the haircut.

Tom Giorgio also got his ass handed to him in the DEC e-board election - a whopping 34 votes to 171 for the winner, 104 votes for second place, and 88 votes for the guy in 3rd place. In English - he finished dead last. Apparently, he isn't anywhere near as well liked as he thought, eh? Who'd have thunk it? He has such a winning personality and mature demeanor. ;D www.pef.org/storage/files/divisions/2012_eb_results.pdfFirst page, a few rows down.

A psychologist who doesn't know how to deal with a bully? I pity his patients.

Well, if his patients are all really nuts, maybe being a highly submissive, soft spoken kindly uncle type is a survival trait.

BWAH, HA HA HA!!! I bet his paper bag video helped a LOT!!! ;D Given his attitude, I'd bet that regardless of what he did, few people actually like him, so I'd suspect that the results would have been much the same. He just strikes me as an arrogant, cocky guy that turns most people off. We all know the type - the problem is always THE OTHER GUY, not them.
