If this really happens - and it's LEGIT control, not control by one vote (such as like Diaz holding the Dems hostage on a leadership vote) - I think this will effectively end any threat to Triborough, further threats to pensions, and generally be a great outcome for labor. Thoughts?

Still concerned with Cuomo being able to extort them

I'm not sure if he could. Democratic control over both the Assembly and the House would effectively mean they could override his budget vetoes, provided a few moderate Senate Repubs go along with it (2/3rds if both houses must vote to override). I don't think it's that far-fetched of an idea, because many of the elected Repubs in our state would practically be Dems in any other state.
This could effectively end the stalemates caused by budget extenders that he has used so deftly as his "big stick" so far.
But even without the veto override, now he's got to get anti-labor legislation through TWO Democrat held legislative bodies, and I think that's a REALLY tough thing to do in this state. Impossible? No. But REALLY tough, especially in the Senate, because labor has some really hardcore allies there on the Dem side like Savino.

The odds are certainly better that he'll back off labor between the state senate development and the 2016 spotlight being on him. No doubt.
